Your Silken Cocoon

It frets away at my mangled nerves

Sets me into a blinding swerve

The direction of which there’s little control

When you do what you know gets me on a fretful roll

So think twice before you say what you know isn’t nice

The things that make you seem like you’ve transformed into ice

I know that you’re in there

Hiding behind rough edges and wounds

Won’t believe that you’ve managed to darken your whole heart

You’ve steeled your silken cocoon with delicate precision

Time well spent you’ve perfected your art

Will you spread your wings to fly now with kindness

It’s in your hands, it’s your decision
