Incessant Nor’easter

Incessant has been the north March wind

It blows off the water and into my den

My house is darn cold

because this building’s quite old.

High winds, relentlessly pelting against my window pane.

While others get snow

I’ve no right to complain.

Yet the fact of the matter

is that these gusts cause a clatter

as they snarl and swirl that wild nor’easter, mad as a hatter.

Swelling seas, bringing waves, smashing seawalls that splatter     up over and batter.

Hoping that brutal north             force lies down like a lamb.

March into April, May and then June, soft gentle breeze, more than ready I am.
