Dawn

Each morning just before sunrise the fishing fleet leaves the port of Gallilee and rounds Point Judith in Narragansett, RI, affording me the most magnificent views of these well weathered vessels and their hard working crew. As they undulate over seas of calm and storm, fish they must and fish they do. We here in Southern New England are blessed with the bounty they bring and the beauty of our unrivaled Atlantic seashore at sunrise.

Gratitude fills my heart at the sight of such simple beauty. The photograph above is one of many that I take as I enjoy my sunrise walks along the ocean’s edge, though few are shared.

The amount of pleasure that I derive from living in such close proximity to the ocean is, I suppose, directly linked with the fact that it is literally in my blood. I hope you enjoy it and sense some measure of it’s peacefulness in looking at the photo, as do I in living it each day.
